DOUGLAS PICCINNINI is an interdisciplinary artist and author of Story Book: a novella (The Cultural Society) and the poetry collections Beautiful, Safe & Free (New Books) and Blood Oboe (Omnidawn). Presently, Piccinnini is actively engaged in developing content for film and television.

His creative endeavors have received broad recognition, supported by organizations such as the Academy of American Poets, American Poetry Review, Los Angeles Review of Books, and The New York Times.

His writing has been awarded residencies by Art Farm Nebraska, The Elizabeth Bishop Society of Nova Scotia, The Vermont Studio Center, Sundress Academy for the Arts in Knoxville, TN and The Mastheads in Pittsfield, MA and has appeared in publications such as The Academy of American Poets’ Poem-a-Day, American Poetry Review, The Brooklyn Rail, Colorado Review, Denver Quarterly, Dream Pop, Fence, Jacket, Lana Turner, The Poetry Project Newsletter, Posit, Nat. Brut, Prelude, Seattle Review, So & So, Tupelo Quarterly, The Volta, Verse, and has been anthologized in The Sonnets: Translating and Rewriting Shakespeare (Nightboat Books, 2012).
